As our Rebels took the field in Baton Rouge at Death Valley, we piled in the Lyric to cheer them on (and raise money for The Pantry).

In between the cheers, the beers, the hotty toddys, the touchdowns, and the lead changes (actually, LSU only lead us twice -- once in the second quarter and once with less than a minute left on the clock), we enjoyed food from local restaurants, door prizes, and a silent auction.

We faced a heartbreaking (and typical) loss as LSU scored in the final seconds of the game to take the lead 41-35.

The best outcome of the day? We raised thousands of dollars for the Oxford community.
Also, we still won the party.

Next week, the Mississippi State Bulldogs will be at our house. State has held the Egg Bowl trophy for 3 years straight. It's our turn to get it back. I have no doubt in my mind that we will.

Hotty Toddy.
